| | Yep, meant to be arriving shortly after the Prime gets it, and the Prime has definitely got it now. Yes, most of the places which did pre-orders (such as eBuyer) aren't even taking new orders now. Folk seem to be willing to pay up to £600 on eBay. At the moment though I'm inclined to open it, have a good play with the wi-fi and if it's ok keep it. The screen is apparently great, the HD better, but you have to put them next to each other to really notice the difference. Also more pixels = more power used, right? And I much prefer the unibody aluminium design of the original prime. Plus I've waited ages for this one, god knows how long they'll take to get the next one out. I wish I could have fitted my post into 140 characters... |

| | Bought a Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman (horrible title) for £100 on PAYG, and it's a really nice budget android phone. Due to get ICS in April too. ![]() ![]() http://http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_live_with_walkman-4111.php |

| | Off to the states in a month, looking at grabbing a tablet whilst there. Looking at around the $200 mark, so I guess a nook, or kindle fire. Essentially just want it for browsing the web, maybe streaming music, and the odd film or something whilst travelling. Anybody got any first hand recommendations? |

| | I can use LFG on my HTC desire without a problem until i need to type a message such as this. The relevant screens come up along with the keyboard and i can put a title in but when typing in the message box, nothing happens. Any ideas thanks. Is there an app for LFG |

| | I don't know specific models, but I have gathered from tablet research that the trend is 2012 is quad core + HD screen (think retina display, but Android). So if you can't find one that doesn't have both of these you should wait. In other news, I'm really not that patient as I got fed up with waiting for the gold Asus Transformer Prime to arrive and have a grey one coming tomorrow. I do prefer the gold really but Asus seem to have lost the gold ones - they were due this week but have been delayed again. Wi-fi in the real world doesn't seem to be an issue, dead/stuck pixels, your prime not having a serial number (!?) or docking issues seem to be more common problems. So hoping I don't get a duff one, but I haven't cancelled my gold pre-order yet... |

| | Just installed BS Player (http://www.bsplayer.com/) which is brilliant. Connects to my NAS and plays anything I can throw at it, quickly and seamlessly. Ads are not too intrusive either. Recommended #curentwestwingaddictionfurtherfacilitated |

It has a 'speck' of light bleed in the centre of the screen - this is not a dead pixel, it's more like a small white fleck, the size of perhaps 4 or 5 pixels. It also has an air or fluid 'bubble' under the screen. This is a intermittent fault, sometimes it's very obvious, sometimes you can't see it, but most of the time there is something there. It's most visible against a plain dark or light background. Putting pressure on that part of the display moves it around, so it's definitely some kind of bubble. It's very slight, and I could live with it if it wasn't for the light bleed. I am disappointed, but ebuyer have been very helpful so far. I now need to work out where they will be able to collect it from. I'm going to wait until the Prime is more widely available (and a later batch is being distributed) and buy one from a shop, so if there are any faults with the screen I can return it immediately. I'm also going to get a gold one, as hands on with the grey has shown me it is quite purpley, I do prefer the look of the gold/silver. This is very poor quality control by Asus, someone should be checking the screens of the finished products in the factory and rejecting any with light bleed or bubbles under the screen. I could live with a dead pixel, but this is really quite unimpressive. | |
