London Fixed-gear and Single-speed

Really interesting set of pics. My uncle and his wife, along with a bunch of their friends did the same thing in the mid-70s in West Virginia.

They all ended up as pillars of the local community: EMT/Nurse, Special Education Teacher, Musician, Psychiaratrist and Evironmental Laywer for the State of W.V. Amongst other things.

Great stuff in there. Seen a few similar sets but this fel different, had a certain intimacy and authenticity about it. Didn't feel like they're trying to convince me about anything, if that makes sense?

Really good set that Will. I'm really into the slight hint of menace that ebbs and flows in and out of the series. Something really creepy happens when clicking between the dead bear and the woman in the doorway with the shadow on the ground. Some of them are so optimistic too.

Yes. Instead of hitting the brakes the press car swerved into him throwing him over the fence. Horrible

He finished the stage like a boss to hold the polka jersey too. 39 stitches! Had a bit of a cry on the podium. Hard as nails!

I'm quite fascinated by people turning their back on modern society to pursue their own way of living. What I don't get though is the people in the shot above, obviously styled according to their own fashion sense. It's like a home woven Mad Max with even more dirt. If you decide to become 'one' with nature, do you really have to be that grubby? Or is that the point?

I saw a documentary type thing on bbc a while ago, someone taking a road trip in the states. He met with a man that's been living in the forests for months up in Alaska. He looked like he just stepped out of a cabin with all mod cons. That, to me, feels more in control, like he actually knows what he's doing, and frankly, more sensible?

I saw this doc. on TV.
This particular Danish squad was followed for weeks... some of the most fucked up imagery I had the misfortune of watching.

Was it that one on Channel 4? I might have seen it.

Prolly, can't be sure. But should be. Wasn't that long ago.
