| | Cosmic vs spinal tapout. 5-2 3-0 5-2 Well done all. Good clean games. Bit tiring the day after BFF but we still managed to put in some effort. Sub Emmett played very well. You not on a team man?! Oh and some serious goal keeping Ed! Pip will post a report when he gets chance... Last edited by Todd; 28th September 2009 at 23:43. |

| | yep another young gun testing us older dudes. I thought polo was meant to be the 30+ club! Fun games vs spinal. They made us work for the wins. The 2nd one was so so tiring. They put up one hell of a wall of defense. Never seen so many wheel disc saved shots. But our relentless attacks finally paid off and noone could have stop toms starting charge first time strike in the last game. Never seen a goal like that. An awesome example of classic tomasito golfing swing shooting - BOOM! Also cool to have the westies scene turn up so could play with some new faces. |

| | Nice one Spinal Tapout! Ed saved countless shots and was unflappable in goal, Prav was riding very strong, tough to force out to the corner when defending, and he scored some sweet goals. And Emmet is a young Goldenwheel in waiting - watching those two hastle eachother was a lot of fun. Great games, and lovely to be down at Newington with a small group for lots of good throw-ins too. |

| | REPORT Cosmic 5 - 2 Spinal Tap Out Cosmic 3 - 0 Spinal Tap Out Cosmic 5 - 2 Spinal Tap Out Cosmic V Spinal Tap Out (1) East meets west once more with the hot favourites Cosmic taking on the bludgeoning force that is the Tap out. Game 1: A shaky start with some loose balls but Matt seizes the initiative the drives a low shot through the Ed’s BB from tight inside left position 1:0 – Matt – 0:28 Some great dribbling by Todd and a trademark tight shot from an acute angle doubles the lead 2:0 – Todd – 2:00 Spinal Tap start to look more solid in defence and Tom is uncharacteristically wasteful, Some great defence work from Prav sets up Emmet who displays some great close control and finishes well.. West Polo is back in the room! 2:1 – Emmet – 3:36 Spinal buoyed by the goal put the pressure on Cosmic, much to the annoyance of Matt who goes on the attack taking picking up Emmets loose play, then attacks all of west London with a sweeping move down the middle and finishes well 3:1 – Matt – 4:48 Cosmic start to get cocky and West show how they can’t be kept down, Ed finds himself in some space on the right of goal and rolls it in off the post, some would say it’s a miss hit, but you could argue that was a fine display of soft hands! 3:2 – Ed – 6:08 Wests are definitely back in the game with the bit between their teeth, Tomisito looks off the boil. One of the players from last season isn’t hitting form. Could it be transfer rumours? Trouble at the Cosmic camp??? We’ll leave that up to you.. Wests are defending well, Prav has them organised and Ed is shaping up to be a good keeper, nearly 3 minutes without a goal then Todd lets rip a cracking first time srike 4:2 – Todd – 8:40 Cosmic look determine to get five before the times out but the Tap wont let this lie. Some great play by Prav but a loose pass allows Matt to sprint the length of the pitch and rifle in the winner.. that’s total polo! 5:2 – Matt – 9:04 Cosmic V Spinal Tap Out (2) 1:0 – Matt – 0:33 Straight out the traps Cosmic look like they want to be home for cocoa and tucked up in time for newsnight. Some nice work by Matt coming in from the left, past 2 players. Tom tries to double the lead shortly after but the rocket from the mallet catches a wheel and flies in the air catching Emmet; who gives a girly shrill… Man up son: This is POLO! Cosmic have keep up the pressure but The Tap out look resolute in defence, there are about 3 Pravs on the court and Emmet is cycling in ever larger circles on that track gear. Cosmic are finding it tough to break them down, could the drink and drug excess that comes with Polo fame be taking it’s toll?? Could the fitter sharper west London massive be the template for the future? Matt has now lost it and pulls a full keo spin on his own and unmarked – tap out. Tom hits the post for the third time but rumour has it Ed is built of London brick, a superb tableaux display in goal! Spinal start to build on their solid defence but Emmet is wastefull and hurried on the counter.. Cosmic have found a way through. Tom goes back to basics, gets tight on goal and places the ball through the BB. 2:0 – Tom – 9:42 Spinal still resolute and Cosmic are starting to put together their legendary slick passing. It pays off, Matt digs deep chasing Emmet into the far corner before dispossessing him and going the length of the pitch to make it 3 3:0 – Matt – 11:07 That’s 7 saves by Ed in goal now, Prav and Emmet are working hard but this is a training match for Cosmic. Cosmic V Spinal Tap Out (3) Can Spinal build on that last performance and steal a point against the run of play?? That’s what the droves of West London Polo fans are calling for here at Newington. 3-2-1-Polo-1-nil 1:0 – Tom – 0:06 That silenced the crowd and his critics, scoring from the half way line before Todd had time to adjust his hair. 2:0 – Matt – 0:20 Cosmic mean business! Goals are flying in and I don’t even have time to write a detailed and mild amusing report! It looked like Matt but to be fair I was chatting to Seb. Spinal are not going to go without a fight, Prav shows some great long arm action robbing Matt, gets around Todd and drives it into the goal off the post 2:1 – Prav – 2:00 More attacking play from Prav and Emmet is putting Cosmic under pressure, a speculative shot from Prav gets turned in by Todd.. 2:2 – Todd (og) – 2:34 Spinal are back in the room, with a few new additions to the team, such as the legendary polo force that is west londons Greasy Slag they could be a title contender! Matt is getting angry and in another display of grit turns defence into attack 3:2 – Matt – 4:29 Spinal look tired and the long ball to clear the lines isn’t working, Cosmic sense the lapse and go in for the kill. Some tidy mallet skills by Todd finds him inches from the keeper and a tidy finish between the wheel and post buts them 2 clear 4:2 – Todd – 6:45 Tom steps out of goal and Spinal are not picking up the lose balls, 15 yds out The Sito lets rip and gives him team a deserved 3rd win, sending West londons second best team to their 6th straight defeat 5:2 – Tom – 8:55 |

"We were somewhere around London's famous London, on the edge of the polo court, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded; Wayne, maybe you should ref….” And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the court was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the court, and the bikes were going about a hundred miles an hour in circles. And a voice was screaming: “Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?” | |

| | Great match report Pip, can you reff all our games? Top night last night, I arrived expecting 5-0 5-0 5-0 but our defensive tactics paid off and I was totally stoked at the final scores. Really fun games against Cosmic you played a brilliant game with some epic goals (mainly Tom's charge goal in the last game). Cheers guys |
