| | Such a nice bike. Have been thinking about building somthing like that but always worry that the chains going to be continously coming off. I suppose this bike proves me wrong as it desnt look like a thrown together job. Do you think youd have to use spercific chainset/derailleur/freewheel to make this work? |

| | http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j5...t/DSCN1413.jpg This is a little different, but from the other pics the guy has totally decked it out in period xtr, ringle, use etc. parts. I'm not sure but I think the forks were team issue jobs? http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...K9GF-AbOvoTrCw Thats the rest of the post |

edscoble thats what all the pics you put up have in spades. I love the maglite bracket on the singlespeed with canti's. I made up a similar bracket when I was at high school.

As long as you put it in your livingroom maybe. Not if you want to use it as a commuting bike. Can't ride it because no pedals The chain will come off in the front Street illegal, because no retroflectors/strips/etc to the sides No lighting rim brakes that eat your rims and brake blocks and make the bike terribly dirty Derailleur system that is very maintenance-unfriendly Rear carrier w/o straps, spring loaded "thing" or bags So, in the end, it's just a piece of design. Nothing more. But okay, there is uglier design.

It's not an attack on tall people, it's just a proportion thing. Frames over 62cm st rarely look good to me

You can see that there is a spacer on the top of the stem, almost nother underneath. Probably he measured that the stem and bars are at the correct position not, but it's clever to leave at least 1 cm extra (with a spacer), so if it feels too deep when riding, it can still mounted a bit higher.
