![]() the rider's set-up on a low pro is pretty similar to riding on the drop, all it usually take to be more comfortable is to use riser instead of bullhorn on the bike and you'll be fine for everyday riding.

| | I turned up to a race last year on my lo-pro and somebody made exactly the same comment about how huge the saddle to bar drop was. I put my bike next to his drop bar machine, and the hand grips of my bullhorns lined up exactly with the hooks of his drops. It's one of the endearing characteristics of the old school lo-pro bikes that they scare the uninitiated. |

scoble's photochop doesn't tell the whole story though, as the angles and front wheel size are very different, the handling isn't anything like the same, even if the scale works for the saddle to bar drop, and 90% of the people who set up lo-pros on this forum have a bad fit, just a glance at some of the victims struggling along in town will tell you that.

| | As a very old person, I have a lo-pro which fits perfectly becasue it was built to fit, with the dimensions taken straight off my road bike. The handling is a little bit different; as edscoble's pic shows, the effect is like having a very long stem on a road bike for the same position, which slows down the steering, but then the small front wheel quickens it up again. The weight balance is more on the front wheel than the road bike, due to shortening the front centres without changing the chainstay length. This effect is magnified if you run tribars very low, as I used to when I was younger and more supple, resulting in the back wheel catching air over high speed bumps. In fact, it was tribars which did for the lo-pro, as few people needed the small front wheel to get a low enough position. |

| | That's the old style Corima Cougar, not the VIF. The VIF has a semi-integrated seat post http://www.corima.com/gb/produits/ca...cadre_vif.html |

| | Quote: BIKE PORN = a bike worthy of giving you sexy thoughts. i personally don't have a wank over women i can afford or have any chance of marrying, porn is meant to be pure fantasy, a rarity, something to aspire to, something not available to every tom, dick or harry... not shitty Peugeot, mass produced plugs or bland destickered 'tasteful' conversion things. something you probably cant afford or are unlikely to ever own. it's like rubbing your thighs over a Renault Clio rather than a Maserati. fools. /rant over P.S don't get bikeporn confused with fond nostalgic memories of yesteryear. vintage bikes even in concourse nick are not porn unless they were state of the art the time. i.e raliegh mixte... not porn. just kinda cool or aesthetically pleasing. /second rant over. | |

| | Bollocks, 'porn' is whatever someone percieves to be alluring / beautiful, no one can prescribe anothers taste. For me that yellow thing is minging and this (attached) is porn. One man's ceiling is another man's floor....or something PS: Charge Plug's are the exception to the rule because I have one between my legs every day |

..which brings us back to square one. I find the panasonic "montage" dull and uninspiring; just because someone's put kashimax and all the right dooberries on their bike and shot it beautifully don't necessarily make it good porn, or even "inspiringly erotic". For me it's all about the bike / components on these pages.. at worst a bad "snap" only hampers full appreciation of true porn, and at best a good "photo" only indulges appreciation of it. At worst though a "good" photo (lit, composed, digitally processed etc.) can actually render its subject bland and cliched. Last edited by pajamas; 6th August 2009 at 22:12. Reason: quote

| | jesus christ - it's bike porn.. bike looks nice = put it in the thread. Rules? For bike porn? What makes good/bad porn? Can we just look at some bikes please and stop quantifying it. Different strokes for different boats. Some people like midgets in chocolate sauce, some like 2 girls 1 cup and some people just like to look at page 3.... |
