Hi guys / gals not wishing to steal thunder from the beloved brick lane court but i figure there seems to be quite a few southerners knocking about on here. I'm in Herne Hill and i know there are a couple of brixton folk about. I wondered who might be up for playing / practising polo southstyle. I just can't get my arse up east sometimes and i'm also a bit shit at it, which probably frustrates those better players wanting to compete a little more. So who's up for some local polo? Brockwell park just came to mind because they have that disused basketball court by the cafe, but if you can think of anywhere else...?

First ever south london polo:
emily, stelle, jonny, trevor, sparky, asm ... can't remember who else.

I'm afraid not, my parents won't let me pass through Brixton: Simply too many vagabonds!

Wasn't the first one in the car park by the Rec Centre? I remember going along to the first two but you'd all fucked off by the time I got there (on both occasions!)... Two years later and I've still only played about 4 games of polo... Fail... :/

and built more polo bikes than anyone else in london by the sound of it. ;)

I'm blaming M A X for the first attempt... And poor luck for the current monstrosity... I was so close, would've had it built yesterday but the Godz intervened*...

So here i sit on the other side of this rotating sphere we call 'earth' and wonder what happened to the NE birthday. Downhams birthday was sometime ago and never got celebrated. If anyone plans a second downham birthday, I will make sure I am visiting the area.

i forgot to mention we got spoken to by a very friendly policeman on weds. He said that southwark was a no drinking in public area, he said he wouldnt take away our cans but that we should be more 'subtle'. It's just like the pit.

I don't know why it was so funny but it was one of the highlights of my night.

Hey Rounce, The South London court is just round the corner from SE Beers (The park on Harper Road). Souths geenrally kicks off somewhere around 6.30 but some people will occasionally be there a little earlier.

Someone will be able to lend you a mallet if you turn up. Probably best to turn up on a bike you don't mind getting a little battered but people will probably be willing to lend you their bike too.

Basically turn up. Talk to whoever is there (DT & Hops are the south ambassadors) but anyone will be able to help you out and get you into a game.

I'm going to be missing South on Wednesday - I've got to go to some hotel in SW London for my work Xmas party :(

What Object said to Rounce. Just come on down and say hello. Everyone is friendly and someone's always willing to talk it through, lend a mallet and probably even a bike. Just come down to Harper Road SE1 after 6.30 on Wednesday and everything else will just happen.

This Wednesday = Landslide's last night in town.
