| | All jokes aside, I got the dates confused for this last year, so might be worth making it crystal exactly what date/night this ride leaves on, just in case *someone* else gets confused ; ) As for cafe recommendations, there is the legendary Regency Cafe in Pimilico/SW1 that I would recommend. Insanely good grub and quite an experience..http://russelldavies.typepad.com/ate...y_cafe_17.html Last edited by pootsmanuva; 1st May 2012 at 08:18. |

| | Right, we have two leaders (a couple who met on the ride actually - awww). The ride will be similar but with the following change at the end: 2am Cutty Sark Gardens 2.30am Southwark Needle (south end of London Bridge) 3am Bar Italia 25 Frith Street 4.30am on the top of Primrose Hill 6am Regents Canal to Lock 7 in Hackney (I know they would lay on something special for us) Exciting! | | So, list for Wednesday 20 June: 1. midsummermouse 2. la poots If you add your name, you have to add a fact (or fantasy) about Summer Solstice: The only moon of Midsummer is the Honey Moon, a time when the hives are harvested for honey. Fermented honey is the ancient drink of the Gods, known as mead, and customarily drunk at wedding parties. The roots of the modern day "honeymoon" survive in current customs. Miss M, Just to clarify again the date of the ride (seeing as you put down Wed and Thursday within a few posts of each other- I realise they were a few days apart, :-) Is the ride this year the night of Tues 19th? So actually starting at 2 am on Wednesday 20th? Since you said the 20th is actually the longest day this year? | |

| | 1. midsummermouse 2. la poots 3. Sweats 4. ian (conker) 5. itsbahhumbugbruce 6. stompy (I might be able to lead the ride from CS to LB) 7. what? ok. 8. Linkpin Solstice The word solstice comes from Latin solstitium or sol (the sun) + -stit-, -stes (standing). The summer solstice occurs when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Cancer, which is located at 23.5° latitude North. |

| | I should probably post the route again as I can't edit the OP: Right, we have two leaders - Dick and Lu. The ride will be similar as in previous years but with the following change at the end: 2am Cutty Sark Gardens 2.30am Southwark Needle (south end of London Bridge) 3am Bar Italia 25 Frith Street 4.30am on the top of Primrose Hill 6am Regents Canal to Lock 7 in Hackney (they will lay on something special for us) Alex |

| | Balls, they've just changed my contract at work. So on the downside, I can't come on the whole ride. On the plus side, I'll be starting work at half sevenish just round the corner from Lock 7, so I could join the ride at Primrose Hill if that's acceptable? 1. midsummermouse 2. la poots 3. Sweats 4. ian (conker) 5. itsbahhumbugbruce 6. stompy (I might be able to lead the ride from CS to LB) 7. what? ok. |
