| | i just use staedtler/pilot/edding drawing pens in about five weights. i have a sharpie but i've no idea how the fuck you can do anything refined with them! MG gots the skillz, so I'm flattered indeed. However, while I love it in his work, I'm not into his themes (tattoo/skate/graffiti culture) for what I do. Not yet anyway. I just like portraying ordinary objects in a certain way. A few people have said about it being Giant-esque, that's what led me to look at his work at first. I'd been drawing like this for a while. I'm into being exact but thinking carefully about the weights and organisation of lines, which I suppose gives a certain character. I don't think that precise drawings have to be dry or devoid of 'art'. Actually, scratch that- edding liner pens are wank. Last edited by Superprecise; 7th April 2009 at 09:11. |

| | They've not stopped selling it since it first reached the 50-vote barrier. I can only assume that they've sold quite a few of them by now. Do you still get royalties, or was it part of the deal that you signed away your rights to the design? In any case, it might be interesting to find out how many they've sold by now. That they've kept it on there (and look at the numbers--they seem to have gone through a few thousand designs by now) seems to indicate that it's a good seller. |

| | I know for a fact that they have printed 134, some ordered through Teepay, some through Howies (sold directly and in their Carnaby Street shop) and some for promotional stuff. For these I have received £330ish in royalties. I know this because recently I contacted them as I kept seeing it for sale in the Howies shop and I had only received my initial cheque for the first 50, which I understand were ordered by and printed for individuals and not speculatively as stock. They were very agreeable and sorted it out straight away; it was just a bit of an administrative misunderstanding. Teepay was fun but it is way more satisfying and financially rewarding to do it for yourself. I'm planning to do some merino wool scarves sometime soon so watch this space... ;) |

| | click on the insert link above the box where you type your message ^ (it looks like a little planet Earth with a tiny length of chain in front of it). Then, in the box that pops up, paste the URL of the link and press OK. Finally, once you are back to the message box, change the text already highlighted between the bracketed HTML stuff (by default it will repeat the URL). :) |
