Dia compe clamp on brake for dia compe clamp on brake

I have the ones for Oval fork which is what I was using, now need ones for a round fork, which is what I now have.

Anyone else got the wrong ones and want to switch?

Swap as much or as little* as you like. Whole thing, or just the mounting rings.

*Minimum the actual mounting rings, obviously.

Is HubJub the only place that sells clamp on brakes in the UK? Do you know anywhere else? Maybe somewhere a little cheaper?

He's only got black. I'm after a silver one.
Does anyone know of an older type? I'm building an 80's track bike and would quite like something in keeping. If there is such a thing.

No brake at all would be the only thing 'in keeping' with any track bike of any era.

I read somewhere that using brakes with round tubed pista forks is not recommended because they are not as strong under braking load as oval fork blades.

But that's exactly what I want to do and have seen others as well with either drilled or clamp on brakes.

Is there really a chance of failure with round blades?

Anyone ever had or seen issues because of that setup?

Yes. And the birds sang gayly in the morning. All the boys and girls skipped to school hand in hand. Mr sun was shining. And all was right with the world.

Back to this again.

I've heard a rumour it's possible to buy just the clamp and use a caliper you already have. Can anybody confirm that? If not, then somebody should start doing it, cos who wants to pay £50 for a whole new brake when all you need is a clamp?
