Where is the thread for the photos, I have a couple to stick up. I have them in my profile albums but they'll just collect dust there.

Hi,

Sorry it's taken me so long to do this....hope i never win an oscar or i'll be up on stage all night.

I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of this, we really did Eilidh proud, she would have loved it!

I'd especially like to thank:

Shins and GreasySlag for organising everything.

Dropout for his initial reccee.

BigDaddyWayne, Murtle and Clefty for the spoke cards.

Stimpy for getting up there in the park before Eilidh's sister Kate and saying some beautiful things about Eilidh.

Carl the fireman who was there on the 5th found me on here and rode with us on Saturday.

Velocio for running this place, without which the ride would have been tiny in comparison.

BBill for riding with Heather (Eilidh's Mum) having a natter and looking out for her.

The outriders, you did a fantastic job keeping some of the more irate taxi drivers in check and keeping us all safe.

Eilidh's family & friends especially those that had never cycled in London before.

All the people who donated money, wrote in the condolence book, PM'd me, posted on the main thread and rode on Saturday.

The ride is a day i and many will never forget. I can't express in words how much it meant riding the route surrounded by so many amazing people, i'm truly touched.

Lastly, i'd like to thank Eilidh. For everything. x

Love to all. Giles

Hi P!mp - it's a late 60s(?) Claud Butler steel track frame (I assume Reynolds 531 by the feel but no markers) with Nervex lugs - original parts include Normandy hubs, Stronglight cranks/chainwheel and Cinelli Pista bars (may be later addition). Originally had Champion rims for tubs but changed these out for the ubiquitious Mavic Open Pros for clinchers.

Riding 48 X 16 (with flipflop 15) just about do-able for me as I live at the top of Crouch Hill.

Frame is a bit neglected - getting more and more Hammerite on it to cover up rust - maybe one day a proper respray is in order.

Also frame is a bit on the big side to what I prefer but it's a great ride!

I passed the Cinema the other day and it looks like they are redeveloping that junction and the traffic island. I hope it's with a view to making it safer. Wouldn't it be wonderful to think that something positive has come out of Eilidh's death.

I've only moved to London recently so was totally unaware of all this until today... I've just spent two hours reading through the various threads on Eilidh trying to keep the tears from my eyes...

I don't know that many cyclists in London, so my experience of riding in the city so far has been mostly of drivers, which left me with somewhat of a bitter taste of city cycling.

Reading this, I am utterly, utterly moved by the reaction and response from everyone here.

It's hard to put into words just how renewing it is to see how powerful, careing and warmhearted people can be, despite the ever growing apathy and bitterness in the world.
It saddens me though how it takes the death of a beautiful young woman for such kindheartedness to be clearly heard over the horns and swearing.

Sometimes I find it hard not to feel sickened by humanity and its people, but this whole story is a big reminder to just how huge some people's hearts can be.

Londonfgss, you guys have created something truly great and pure.

P.S.:

Rest in peace, Eilidh
