| | Wonderful ride. I was far too in awe of everyone to really speak to any forumengers but found the whole thing very moving. Found myself doing a bit ofoutriding at a few points as well as trailing in last at NH. Far too modest to post my own photos of the day but enjoying looking at everyone else's' and actually recognising a few people. Ride safe. |

| | I arrived at the meeting point yesterday, amongst soooooo many friendly people - and was then whisked away on an amazing journey through London, chatting to some, smiling to others. My journey back to Birmingham was very hazy, as i continually imagined what it must have been like for Eilidhs family and friends to see us all cruising by.... An image i will always remember. Everyone that took part in cooling the traffic down, was fantastic. People were stopped in their tracks as we passed - with people up high in windows waving us on. I'm sure Eilidh was doing the same. |

| | I was moved. I didn't know Eilidh, but i came to pay tribute to a fellow cyclist, and to show her family and friends that the world does care about this. I will remember the ride, and Eilidh, and those she left behind. Thank you to everyone who helped it go smoothly, and to the drivers who had patience with us. |

| | Dear All Thank you so much for Saturday. So many friends and extended family have said how wonderful and touching it was to see us all coming in. I dont know if you knew, I should have said at the start, but actually nearly all of the immediate family did the ride; my brother Mark, who came from Canada, my brother Asher and his girlfriend Georgie who came from Zermatt, Switzerland, and my mother, Heather, who came from Northumberland. My partner, Stewart, drove down from Northumberland with all the bikes in his van. My father John, didnt ride but he was there at the begining and at the end, along with my little babies Jake, 2 (named after Eilidh Jake Cairns) and Lys, 3, who came and kissed Eilidh's photo and stroked her face. They loved their Auntie Eilidh. So good to speak to a few of you too. Really, thank you from my heart, I know this has helped all of the family, and Giles and friends too. Honestly Eilidh would have been so proud and so chuffed. Thank you for making this possible and being there for her. Eilidh's Sledge. x |

The route was perfect, the speed spot-on and the marshalling great. And it was good to reach the front finally and to be greeted by Heather and Bill having a good old natter. Perfect. | |

| | Bill/Ray a truely fantastic effort in leading out. the image of a seasoned, hardend courier side by side with a charming mother, wife and lady - leading 300 odd riders through the streets of london bringing traffic to a peacefull stand still will stick with me forever. And all you others (far too many to list) great work on making it go all so smoothly. Scott and Will jointly got is spot on. it was a day we all dropped our differences and felt proud to be part of this. I never met Eilidh but meeting her family and friends gave me an idea of what a wonderfull person she was Last edited by Greasy Slag; 9th March 2009 at 18:58. Reason: didn't finish first time! |

| | Hi, This is my first post. I can't say how much Saturday's ride has effected me. I've not been able to think of much else since. It truly was a moving experience and one I don't think I will ever forget. I didn't know Eilidh and it was hard to find the right words when I spoke briefly to the people that did know her. I had a video camera with me and I filmed most of the ride. The batteries ran out before reaching Notting Hill which was annoying. I've edited together a small 8 min video which I will upload to YouTube for people to watch. I've "borrowed" a few pictures from Flickr to cover the Notting Hill section that I missed out. I hope nobody minds. I will post a link as soon as the vid has uploaded. |
