Trek Madone 4.7 Roadbike

Thinking about buying one of these for abit of racing/sportives has anyone any experience of them?

Are they any good?

They are probably okay, but they don't fit well with your username do they. Shouldn't you be asking about some steel framed sportives machine :-)

Hi there,

This is my first post on here and strange that its not about a fixed question. (zero out of ten for effort will try harder next time)

Not sure whether you have bought your new bike yet but I bought a Trek 4.7 a few weeks ago and love it. For a full carbon frame and Ultegra groupset you would be hard pushed to beat it for value. Don't bother paying up for the 09 model as there is no difference to the 08 version apart from £300 extra
I think JE James cycles are doing the LOOK 555 Ultegra for the same price £1300ish but probably a year older.

I had a Trek 5.9 Madone and the frame woulldn't hold a candle to a Litepeed for the same money:

I have the Lemond version (Buenos Aires). Frame is fantastic, seat-stay setup means the stiffness when sprinting is unbelievable!

Also, looks like the 2009 version has more Ultegra than 105, not life and death but better for resale
