| | +1000 I don't feel any forum member should organize smaller tweed themed rides as they would simply detract from the magic of the Original Tweed Run. If one does materialize, please don't put an emphasis on tweed or choose the same route, landmarks, and rest stops as Teddy's first ride. We've had all summer to do a Linen Run or Seersucker Run to satisfy our dapper desires. What's the rush now? Don't do it! Fake Tweed can be spotted miles away. |

| | As much as the Tweed Run is Teddy's baby [and he put a shit load of work into it] in my mind it's also LFGSS's baby - as I recall it all started with a few posts on here and was in the main populated and organised by forum peeps please don't let this become the Rapha Tweed Run or some such nonsense, should always be the LFGSS Tweed Run… |

| | it was teddys original idea, and i am gonna wait until march. it should remain as an annual ride, not a social one like the bridges. imagine how big it will be if we wait??. and the sponsors will be all over it. but we could always have some sort of retro type ride. | | the next tweed run is planned for the first weekend in march. hold out until then, it'll be worth it... but we are planning to host a tweed run christmas party with bike fun (keep that under your hat though, it's still a secret...) and stay tuned for a few exciting non-ride-related announcements |

| | From Ealing Cycling... Sorry for the short notice but the Vetran Cycling Club are holding the regular match-lit ride this Saturday. It's so called because the only allowed means of lighting is non-electric, no LEDs, no batteries, no dynamos. It starts at 8.00pm promptly from the Sheen Gate in Richmond Park. I went last year and it was a real hoot - there's a mixture of bicycles from the last 100 years lit with carbide lights, parafin, candles, oil and in my case a selection of glow-sticks. Last year there was a mist which added to the atmosphere as well as several dozen male deer doing what male deer do best. The VCC organised tea and cakes at the end of the lap of the park so please bring something for their collection tin in the case they do this again. Arrive a bit earlier to awe at how cycling was before portable electricity and how a £2.99 light from Halfords really is life changing. Even if no one does this one, it's an interesting concept that might one day be applied to a "naturally lit" retro/tweed night ride? |

| | I am so looking forward to the ride in March. I have a 1930s Royal Enfield I'm working on to get ship-shape for the ride. I've been trying to set aside a bit of cash for tweed for it but now see that there will be a Christmas version to attempt as well. So now I need to source some tweed in short order. Can anyone help point a non-native Londoner to places where I can get my tweed fix? |

| | just added this to the wikipedia entry: Bicycles acceptable on a tweed run are normally expected to be of classic appearance, and are generally single speed, fixed gear, or vintage. Other bicycles are acceptable as the organising group is not strictly a vintage club, but some effort to recreate the spirit of a bygone era is always appreciated. |
