| | I've read on here somewhere that cutting across the player with the ball is a no-no. I can't get my head around this. Does this mean that if the player with the ball is coming towards me, the defender, I can't cross his line, forcing him the stop or deviate. I can only go up the side and try and get the ball? As you may be able to tell, I'm new to Polo and haven't got all the rules yet. Ta, |

| | You can maintain a position in front of the player (although this can cost you wheels - fucking James Brown), or come beside them and "push" them off line. You cannot come directly across in such a way that will force them to run into you, or run into them. Come play and watch and you'll get it. |

| | Played my first real game of polo last night, fuck it was good, had a rad time. Swapped down to 42/19 and the gear felt perfect. Was a bit disappointed tho as out of 30 players only 4 were on fixed gears (In Melbourne Australia). Reckon im gonna build up a proper polo bike from here so mine doesnt get too beat up. |

| | Yo..just had a polo thought..... is it worth creating a sticky thread which is uneditable un-postable (by everyone apart from admin)which just says where and when the days game/throwins are? eg. Thread tittle (sticky): Throwins today are here... North East Court link to court&time. |

| | http://www.londonfgss.com/thread16783.html It's a good idea, but it shouldn't be admin only (imo). Unlikely to get updated often enough if it's up to just you and Mike, nor is it fair to expect you guys to make the effort to constantly update it. |

| | Hello, I am Duco and a total noob to fixed cycling.I am 15(16 in 20 days, lol) years old and I am from Holland. I am following this and a lot of other sites for a week now and I am totally in love with the sport. And when I came across Bike Polo I fell for that. It's great! Now I can't wait to start building my own fixie but I am having a hard time finding the right information and tips for doing that so low-budget as possible. A couple of friends of mine are interested in this too so possibly we will start a team, if we like the game after falling a couple of times ;) Well, in short: Can you help me with as much pointers as possible? |

| | Hi Duco, the best thing to do is ask on any particular problem you encounter in the way, people here is friendly and helpfull. Also to point, I'm sure half of your question has been already discuss already, I year ago 70% of us were in the same position as you are now. |

| | Yes, I started reading everything from the beginning till now, I am left at page 6 so I am learning and getting entusiastic a lot. Can't wait till buying my own proper frame. http://cgi.ebay.nl/Vitus-Rennrad-Sta...3286.m63.l1177 Is that any good? It has vertical dropouts so it is a possible fixie. |
