Ed, what about Phil Woods kiss off mid flange hubs? Not sure if you can get a fixed rear one, but the front one is really sexy. Would look perfect I reckon. They are MTB SS hubs I think. Martin at BLB has one on the front of his lo-pro. Might be right up your alley... (...or at least worth considering)

my next frame is going to be a classic italian track frame (hopefully, unless I can find an NJS 57cm frame for not a lots of dosh), so was unsure if the high flange with a slighty deep V rims would look right on it.

the kiss-off look nice, but the spacing is 135mm, instead of 120mm (at least as far as I know).

the low-flange should look really nice with the combination of Mavic CXP14 and chrome low flange hubs (wheel in picture is velocity but you get the idea).

Having thought about it, I think I'll go for some Miche Primato low flange hubs, they're reasonably priced and look nice.

random small jobs every now and then (painting people's room, putting fenches up, etc.), also DLA sometime helped (Disabilities Living Allowance).

And time helped too, I'm starting the easier part, before getting to the frame (hopefully by then I'd get a permanent job).

It must be tough never knowing where your next camera lens or NJS frame is coming from...

you can with a machined one, a non-machined one can be used with brakes, but not as effective as a machined rims.
