work net access lets me read the board but doesnt allow me to post. how annoying!

some of us at the cambridge tournament were discussing having some people down from cambs and mancs for pre-geneva polo warm-up team throw-ins. anyone would be welcome to play, but throw ins would mainly be via 'teams' or at least groups of three players, so that the non-london teams can get some decent practice in...

i've suggested Sunday July 4th as it's the only date that the geneva black stabbath line-up can make.

I realised that i never replied to your text about the use of Highgate courts!
I'm attending a residents meeting this evening, and its likely that a representative from Council will be there to update me on the request that i sent to him a while back, regarding "booking" the courts for polo. As yet i have had no response, but i'll ask for updates this evening.
If there's anything that you need me to bring up, let it be know here! Or fire me a text. I'll update here after the meeting. Are we still thinking of the 4th July?

Nothing to report as yet. There was an issue raised last night around having risk assessments drawn up for the courts in relation to bike polo. This is a piece of cake.
I'd hope to hear something back from them very soon. Doesn't look like it'll cost anything.

nice work dan. risks i can assess include ben's t-shirts, ben's boombox, spectators' feral rottweilers, errant half-volley shots, dan lj's lefty charges, and so on and so on...

if we can get a booking i'd be way more confident to open it up to london types too.

It was only about 2pm when I posted, I have no idea if you lot play on sundays anymore!

The rain wouldve made it impossible anyway.

we rarely play on sundays, although fin was on about a once-monthly meeting.

either way, the forum alone doesn't really work for organising same-day games. it's very wishful thinking to get 5 responses in a few hours. i've nearly had success a few times from texting people, but inevitably if it isn't planned a long time in advance or on a wednesday, polo doesn't happen.

Dedicated polo site is bloody needed man

B'ham needs a women's polo team, I'm pretty sure interest and attendance would skyrocket if/when that happens....

Colours out there tonight were perfect for photos, haven't fucked with these shots at all, this is just killer sunlight.
Still not sure if I'm down for playing 'bike golf' though, one of the local kids explained the rules and it was all a bit surreal.
