I'd like to suggest an alternate venue for SE drinks: The Kings Arms on Tooley street.

They have a half price food menu on Tuesdays (inc rack of ribs & steak see flyer)
Yeah, it is pretty central but that means others that wouldn't normally come down could/would
There's a decent atmoshpere on a tuesday

What do you think?

Depending on my mood, either. Good idea for a pub, I'm broke so it's just me being selfish not wanting a pub any more expensive than the Duke. :)

I am not. I stole it off a romantic novelist who was using it as a pseudonym in a magazine about London.

"And yet I can honestly say, with hand on heart, that neither former prime minister had contrived to whet my fancy with his fiscal grasp. What I was drawn to wasn't their politics, but their power, and when that aphrodisiac is fizzing through my veins, Left or Right simply doesn't come into it - I barely distinguish between the power which comes through high office and the power which comes through 13 Amp sockets, let alone that which flows from different parts of the political spectrum; once the lights are out and we're under the duvet, I'm happy to be approached from either end."
[Hard Shouldered by Love - Tricity Bendix]

I should really get a new username, but I am so oldskool now (despite my meagre post count) I am reluctant to change it.

If I wasent so afiliated with North Drinks I would be there. That is (other than the Dean Swift) my local work pub. I may start poping in for one or two before heading up north though. Will anyone be there at 5.45 tonight?

As a an ex-Bermondsey girl I may well be up for this, can't make tonight, but up for future jaunts - we can throw things at St Michaels pupils (my old school)

Cant remember what the lockup situ is, but can check tomorrow if no-one else has by then

I'll try to make it for then, might have to forego my normal setting off with fag in mouth if I need to get up to speed fast though.

Good to meet Charco, VeLLo, and good to see TheBrick(Tommy), and MultiGrooves (jammy sausage had his bike parked up inside the pub; with landlord's permission).

Here's the lowdown:

Decent music, from a powerful and bassy system.

Good food, but ribs, not burgers [Multi can you sweet-talk the publican into offering burgers?]

Good, noisy-ish atmosphere, with people really enjoying a good vibe.

Not much room for bikes, BUT across the street, in easy reach and full view, are loads of railings. I locked my Capo there, and my lock is shit. Kept an eye on it, and all was good.

Oh yeah, the beer was good and cold, and the bartenders (for those who find these things important) where quite attractive. Okay, I meant the female ones!!!

:))

GA2G - those ribs looked amazing - get them on the list dude ;)
charco - spoke card looking good, about 2mm shorter than the GSID one i got but i reckon good to go. will get you a decent G to say thanks.

And good to meet Dammit, Sharkstar and Mowgster.

Found out last night the the rack of ribs is HUGE, and easily shared by 3 people, which we did!

Thats was a real £6.95 bargain! Went well with all the rum, beer and Jack Daniels.......

Sorry I missed you Rich.
