I am looking for a good one in Germany and that way I can drive it back, drive it in Holland for the next few months then register it in Sweden. They seem pretty solid-probably not the most eco but then the diesels could be converted to bio I suppose. If doing it that way I'll probably try and get an RAC type inspection done on it before i go all the way over there to see it myself. Found a couple just over the border from here that are 4000 euros and pretty low miles for a '84 car! Faced with a Swedish winter it's probably more realistic than wincing every time a pretty 2002 gets sprayed with rock salt ;( and yes, cheap and tax free that was the original criteria... i do like the style even if it does slightly conjure up spoilt premier league wideboy associations.

also found a cheap suzuki samurai in very good nick. worthwhile or stay away? anything i've read seems positive... just a pity they're quite wee. Also a few pajeros, but not sure they'll have the same re-sale ease as a G Klasse.

| | bit under powered, but there is away to fit an xud engine and vitara box then get it lifted and they are very very capeable off roaders. Had a sj they do fall over at not very high speeds, but the flip side is very little damage and easily put back on its wheels. Only 1l and 1.3 but they are thirsty |

You can probably tell i do like the Germanic uber styling. Inspires visions of tearing through virgin terrain listening to Orff and swigging schnapps as I run down cattle too dazzled by my spots to move... limbs flying asunder and then popping into a nice local cafe for some strudel and coffee.

| | Shite picture, but she's a fucking beast - turning the electronics off today in the wet was eye opening, I foresee large tyre bills in my near future. not sure about the wing, though it is the original AMG one. Exhaust being done on Monday, neighbours are going to be so pleased ![]() |

| | ![]() Just bought this last week. 650cc Fiat 126 block bored out to 82mm (740cc?), cylinder head skimmed and flycut for 10:1 compression ratio, plenty of upgrades to clutch/drivetrain/suspension/gearing/brakes. It's like driving a go-kart, and it's hilarious watching people's faces when you downshift & overtake them in it. Very silly stuff. |

| | Good purchase!! My classic Mini used to be like that, people would get pretty surprised/annoyed when you overtook them. One of my favourite memories is when I'd just picked up an eBay purchase, a roof rack, and I was late for a show so was really racing to get there. This SL500 was going some on this tight B road but he was still holding me up, I came out of a 2nd gear corner, already out in the middle and banged past him, his face with me, ear defenders on, sunglasses, and the roof rack just finished it off. I made sure to change up just as I went past him to give him the signature 2 foot flame out of the back. Lattteerrssss.... |

Got written off in the floods of 07, when at the Glade festival. I have some good contacts for them, worth trying this guy for parts and work, he has a whole field full of scrapped W126's - knows everything about em http://www.sec-shop.com/
