| | Crank extracting, mystery? Having a very problems with this supposedly easy job. I'm pretty sure I've got a square taper bottom bracket but after removing the bolts without fuss, I screwed in the crank extractor also without a hitch. However on screwing in the remover ( push down thing) it got very stiff very quickly and it wouldn't go any further. The crank showed no sign of coming free. When I took the tool out this little mystery fell on the floor? Wondering if it's come off the cranks or the tool? pictures below: Does the little spindle thing go in the round jobbie? I can't get the thing to go back into either the bike or the tool. Any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers |
