Yeah, I park it outside of there if I am around that side of town. I know the wonderful people responsible for Shrinking Violet, they keep an eye on it for me.

Nice…
right scrap what I said above, picked one up of gumtree last night… whats the cheapest you reckon I can get this done for? Want to keep it as authentic as possible so would look at just changing the hub and chain-set then giving it a good'ol clean-up.

i might swing by soon to top up my winter light collection so say hi if you see a rusty fixed with a brooks and risers, or a oddball black fixed with a white rolls saddle, front disc and epic clearances. they are both me.

I recently discovered the joys of lighter fluid as a cleaning product. I've used it very successfully to clean oil and general hand-filth off my grips.

copy the direct link from photobucket and paste it into the box you get when you click on the image tool in the mini tool bar when posting a thread.

they might well be i have a suspicion that they are but it was a cheap buy so i'm not too fussed untill i need to replace them, and i will probably change the pedals in time any recommendations?

if you are going for clipless, buy time atac's. but second hand. if you are going for toe clips and straps, i got no idea, i hate them.

MKS track pedals, such as the Sylvan Light and GR-9, are both good for conversions (giving plenty of clearance in turns... being quite narrow). Sylvan track is probably the most common choice (though you may get some pedal strike with your frame). I ride a conversion daily and the GR-9s are a life saver in fast corners.

I also have some black cage MKS Sylvans I don't need, open to offers £££ ;-)

What kind of state are the sylvans in? i may be interested i'll look into them and possibly PM you tomorrow? However what else would i need in order to use the pedals etc as this is all very new to me and i know absolutely nothing about track pedals, thanks.

They're mint, black cage model. I'd like to help but they're on eBay now.

You'll benefit from proper pedals (^those^ will strike ground when cornering fixed), toeclips and straps will keep you safely in, and help your general pedaling and slowing too.

Getting hold of pedals... Their are bargains to be had on eBay when people buy a new complete bike, then sell off the low-end pedals. Those pedals are often a narrow design (good for you). If you find some pedals and need cheap clips and straps... there is a guy in St Nicks market who sells a set of straps for £3 and he'll have some plastic clips too.

Very cheap for Nylon straps (the ones with the good buckles). But most people think Nylon straps are shit (but I like them in double-strap setups).

Ah no worries, i may try and find them on ebay ha! miro-o would you say these are worth the money i searched the forum and a member got pedals, clips and straps for £28? You speak words of wisdom!

Feel free to bid on these! I've also got some spare MKS steel clips (small) I'll throw in if you win (if of any use). :)

Paul at Kiwi Cycles is a good guy to buy from. And those parts are all good quality and suitable.
You could get a cheaper setup, but not those parts cheaper (if that makes sense).

Looking at your BB height and crank arm... I'd still go for narrow pedals though.
SJS cycles sell GR9s.

Hopefully a Thursday night will be dry sometime soon; however unlikely...

Here's my ride, had it over a year now, I work in Bath so am usually riding it round there, live in Keynsham, the height of all activity in the west country! Not hooked up with any other fixed riders since I've had my bike, so maybe I should do! I'm up for a Thursday night ride soon for sure.
