twenny quid? i hope not. thats a crap amount. its a fifteen minute job so tenner tops. ask the mechanic where you work how much it costs. or kick up a fuss and get them to order the cutter to do it and then do it at work and spread the word so everyone will come to you for 1inch headtube facing...

I believe the owner/staff are pretty into the whole fixed thing. Their interest may be genuine, not just a cash-in.

Anyway if Evans Cycles, Leisure Lakes etc and other shit bike shops sell Charge™... Then you clearly don't need to know shit.

Did y'all have fun tonight, I showed up kind of late with a little help from work and walking out of the shop to a flat front end.
I'm a little confused as to who came out tonight from this forum?
Next week? Well, we'll be there every week, weather permitted, if you guys feel like coming out.

Actually after calling Leisure Lakes a shitty shop...

a friend bought a bike in the Cheltenham branch today, I was supposed to go with her so she wouldn't get sold overbuilt/overpriced junk, but i got caught-up and couldn't go along.

I saw the bike and lock she got this evening and it's perfect. I think she got really sound advice about what she did and didn't need. Clearly not everyone in Leisure lakes is a 16 year old only interested in wanking over an Orange full-sus bike.

I was there. Nice to put some names to faces!

I met DJC, whatfriends and Bond off here that I know of - may have been some others. Were quite a few people out, maybe 10+?

I left about 8ish and fancied a quick burn around so I followed Bond up Jacob Wells Road and through Clifton. I thought I was cool with hills from riding up the Wells Road every night, but I had to push hard to not get left behind!

Nice to meet some heads from here at last - Whatfriends and Ward-a-mercy great to meet you, good to put some faces and bikes to names. Didn't catch the names of others i'm afraid - it was a bit like the first day at school... Some impressive tricks!!

Magnus I was wondering when I might pass you, it's funny how a fixed riding style just stands out, not a sight I'm normally greeted by over that way, were you heading over the bridge for a burn? it was a fine evening for a ride..

Having looked at the "post your bikes" thread, I think I can state with some authority that I spotted Steamroller last Thursday on the platform of Bath station.

I was stood behind you with my roadbike (black w/ red rims). I thought you might have been off here, but I didn't want to butt in to your conversation with your mate with the old "Are you that bloke off the forum?" chat!

Next time I see you I'll say "hi"!

This belongs to a good friend of mine called Steven, and it is a beautiful bike. It has a good home and a loving owner.

Hello!

Strangely the same thought went through my mind when I saw you stood there... then I saw the gears and thought better of it!

Did you get on the next train? Gets a bit mental at 6pm on the platform.

How, neighbours. I've been lurking around this site for a while now, like a bit of a rapey sweat merchant, but now I will reveal myself to you, you lucky, lucky people you. Sorry for hijacking the thread, but cos I'm new to the site, it won't let me start my own one.
I live in Yogurtsville, Montpelier. I ride an old blue converted Dawes with some uber-metrosexual pink grips yancopad. Are there any rides planned soon? And where's the loo around here?
Cheersy bye,

I had about 81" on mine for a couple of years. I only ever rode between Whitechapel and Clerkenwell though, flat as a pancake.

81" in Bristol will kill both knees in under a year I reckon. What about 51"?
