That's pretty sweet. I just blew my rubino today, after about 2 months. They look somewhere between pic 4 and 5. Gonna have to ride with a rear slick for a couple of days.

After 11 months and 1 punture my roubaix armidillo Elite is showing some signs of wear but not the expected wear based on this thread as chunks are rapidly tearing them selves off the tyre, any one know if I should panic buy another tyre or can I expect the same longevity that doggy got whilst waiting for someone cheaper to deliver.

I just seem to be revealing stitching at the stage so suspect I have another layer to get through, but haven't got to this stage in one of these before.

how grippy are these tyres? are they fuckers to skid on like gatorskins?

i am currently getting a whole 3/4 weeks out of a 28c randeonuer..... which is a bit annoying, but at 11 quid each i cant really complain.

Not very grippy, Rob... Mine didn't wear as evenly as that and started delaminating once they'd started to wear through the first layer and been in the rain a coupla times... Easy to skid tho'...

The roubaix's are grippy but skid nicely, I managed about 10 meters down a hill today, only complaint is that the sidewalls are completely inflexible so give a bit of a harsh ride....

You spend £11/month on tyres?

And you have the nerve to question people (stupidly) spending £££ on bi-curious allen keys?

I suppose your dangler enterprise pays for it all - how's that coming along, BTW?

I call you a fixie skidder in jest a while ago, but after hearing that an Randonneur only last a month for you, you're definitely a fixie skidder.

1 month? fucking hell, do you skid everytime you need to slow down??

I'm not sure what's worse. Being branded a fixie skidder who spends too much on tyres by wearing them out, or being called that by someone who spends the same amount of money on stuff that barely gets used.

thanks for you helpful input there Ed. as always.

i never denied being a 'fixie skidder' as you lovingly call us.... i just questioned you god-like knowledge of "genuine track geometry".... seeing as you've never actually ridden on the track.

or to put it simply... shut up, Ed.

go back to scaring off newbies and taking the piss out of people who have just had their bike nicked for using a less-than perfect lock.

and i'm sure there are a few Charge products out there that you haven't done adequate research on yet too.

i already sent the heavies round twice, but he just made them go to sleep with talk of double height atriums, and cantilevered roof structures.

i could give you the address if you want, but i fear you may return sounding like a second rate Kevin McCloud.
