good luck with the sale, but sadly that's not an XA / rangefinder.
what about a coaster brake?
chainstay mounting has been done (eg with u-brakes on old mtbs) but it's not ideal because road dirt / spray etc
one of these (very original) has just fetched £230 on ebay.

there was a BMW with doors like that years ago - Z1 I think it was. It didn't catch on.
edit - more than 20 years ago, in fact.
just a thin smear of copper grease on the threads.
to clarify - reports say it was a tractor unit (front part of an artic hgv, presumably without trailer), not an agricultural-type tractor.
^ does that basket bounce up and down, or is it attached rigidly to the handlebars? (in which case I woudn't expect it to stay attached for long).
