Due to the huge success of our women's track sessions we have decided to take things one step further and organise a women's only track meet.
Please help us make the event a success by spreading the word to friends, girl-friends, colleagues, etc. And boys... there will be a 1-lap dash drag race to keep you entertained!

Location: Herne Hill Velodrome

Velo Jam with the MuleBar Girls and AnaNichoola is a concept based on the belief that something needs to be done to tap into all the women out there who want to be taken seriously and race track.

With a hefty prize pot of £750 plus loads of goodies, Velo Jam will be attracting and rewarding high level racers. It gives women the chance to race in a field of just other women.

But it is not all about the elite, with 3 categories of racers, ensuring that just because you are female, you will not be expected to race outside of your level. A, B and Go-Race! categories gives something for everyone.

Velo Jam Go-Race! will see women racing on the track for the first time in a welcoming environment.

Not to mention there will be music, stalls and a barbeque to keep the husband and kids entertained!

PS - Those wanting to ride the Go-Race! category need to have attended at least one track training session to be able to race. We have hire bikes that can be used free of charge.

What she said - my track attendence game has been weak though - was out of country last week, feeling ropey yesterday and it's the London Classic this sunday.

Maybe time to check out the saturday sessions?

Def after work. I work 9-6 and def will not be doing it before.

Just trying to work out best day to do it. I was thinking of Monday but that clashes with race training at the velodrome.

I need to sus out what other chain gangs happen at the park.

Velojam sounds brilliant - gutted I won't be around. V interested in RP chaingangs - Wednesdays would suit me too, for what it's worth.

Great day out with some excellent racing. The forum was very well represented by BianchiMasher, KatieCoo, ms_chris and doubtless many others who I haven't met yet. Inspiring how young some of the A-Cats were (and how nice their bikes were...that Bridgestone and that pink Dolan). Hope the riders involved in the crash were alright.

Fair play to everyone racing today, that wind was punishing.

Brilliant afternoon's racing - thanks to Wiesia and all others involved in organisation. Massive well done to Kat ("on here") for winning the novice omnium, and Steph, Kate and Kat for their glorious victories. Oh and Tibbs for the muff (just eaten, v v v good!).

Brilliant work organising this, Wiesia. More women's events FTW. I wish I could have come, but I was leading a ride.

Thanks to everyone who showed up to race, support and help out. Was rather hectic on the day so sorry that I did not get to thank you all in person.

Many people thought there was not the demand to have women's categorised racing and we have proved them all wrong. Bring on Velo Jam 2013!
