Welcome to the Ladies Polo thread. This is where the ladies can organise Ladies nights, discuss potential projects, or anything else polo related.

We don't play on regular nights, so do keep checking the latest posts to see what's planned. If you have any questions, throw them out there, we are all super friendly and just want more girls on the court.

We also have a Facebook page which we'll keep up to date, so be sure to like us and let us know if you wanna join us as a member.

As a regular thing or a one-off?

Not sure, play it as it comes, or start out once a month? I know that a few of us work shifts, which makes it difficult to have regular evenings/weekends off.

my opinion: more girls in polo would be brilliant, but I like mixed polo better and wouldn't want to separate it.

My housemate will be in once her collar bone is healed. Should it not rotate north and south or is the draw of londons premier court too much?

adam - are you suggesting tues and thurs at newington are for league games and secret team practice ;-)

It's not to separate but get a different level of play (notice I didn't suggest a Wednesday).

Some (not all) may feel less inclined to push somebody who's bigger than them, but feel more comfortable playing harder against somebody their own size without slowing things down too much.

For me, it's about working towards pushing harder in an environment where you don't need to be afraid to do so — which will make mixed play that much better — while encouraging more women on the court at the same time.

I know some girls that would like to try it without the sausage if u know what I means?? Sort of beginners but too imtimated by cumberlands that abit of just ladies might be nice..

I think it will be a great idea independently that all of you keep going to all the mix days you want.

I would prefer a Thursday so I can still do beginners but if it's monthly I guess I could always miss one.

I'll see if Niamh who lives on my road knows any of the girls she brought down to peckham last winter when we played. She used to bring a whole load coz she was head of the cycle society. Might start out as noobs but might go on to slay Los conos!

I am a shift worker too unfortunately, I can't do thurs next week but could do tues.

This is a good idea, i think having the ladies nights will be good for girls confidence and improve play. So when girls go to mixed nights it will have given them more experience and feel less pressurised.

I work shifts too, i can do Tuesday this week but not Thursday.

My housemate (Jen) would be up for this.

I 100% agree, i think this is a great thing. At the end of the day it's all about mixed polo, but this doesn't hinder mixed polo, it helps it!

I'd really like to see enough ladies in London playing for us to do a really good Co-ed tourney.

Ok, how does this sound, playing Tuesday at Mitch because it Alicia's (Leash) tap out is also happening on Tuesday and she is very interested in playing ladies polo.

I really don't want to miss her tap out and the more of us there are out the better her tap out will be. Does this work with everybody/anybody?

Tuesday is throw-ins though, just sayin'.

Let's not interfere with Tuesday throw ins.

anyway london ladies should continue to make an effort to play together as often as yall can make it happen. it's good times. wish i could make it to newington first but it's too much for me to do.

I was under the impression that your tapout was also going to take place on Tuesday and I didn't want to miss out. As such, I thought it was worth suggesting the possibility of moving everybody to Mitch.

If girls want to stay south, that's cool, but it would be cool to send leash off with as many fems as poss as she's expressed interest of playing with all the London ladies. Of course I recognise that this is also throw in night and there are many who don't want to detract from it as it may be one of the few opportunities they have to play.

I wasn't suggesting that we take over, just that the ladies roll up to this party instead.
