^ good stuff - sure I've heard that Posh Spice/Saffron joke before
All round good egg John Doran revisits one of my favourite pieces from the much missed Plan B Magazine in today's Quietus. Think we may have covered this before but definitley worth a link I thought. thequietus.com/articles/11439-why-i-hate-the-cult-of-bill-hicks

Im off to see Lee Hurst tonight.
Mother in Law bought me, the wife and her tickets, so its free.
I vaguely remember him being on They Think Its All Over, no recollection of him actually being funny though :/
ah, he famously took an audience members phone and smashed it up (audience member filming him)
Off to see Louis CK tonight at the O2. Shite venue for comedy but have tickets near the front so hopefully the dome won't ruin it. Otherwise massively hyped
I was there too - really solid set, but as you say, peculiar place for a stand up.
what was the crowd like? mix of types?
Crowd was completely mixed, not what I was expecting but then it was a 12,000 ticket gig. Agree with nick on a solid set. Bit of a dip in the middle but last joke was a classic Louis punch in the face, balls and asshole.
Sorry if the link's a repost, but I rate the late Patrice O'Neal.
On now and on iplayer
The excellent sit down atheist comedian

Went to go and see Stewart Lee tonight. Defo worth seeing while hes on.
Lost at bit of momentum towards the end because he was totally freewheeling.
At the start, we put our coats in at the weird little booth which doubled as a bar and there was also a sign up saying Stew would be signing merchandise there after. As we got up, I said 'I bet there's a massive queue to get coats because he's signing stuff'.
There wasn't a queue, but there was also nobody other than Stew in there. He looked a bit put out but eventually got my coat.
