Cyclefit in Dublin?

  • Howya,
Does anyone know of any shops around the city center that does cyclefits for good prices?
I have some discomfort in my knees at times and other places at times also.
Even if one of you were good at it maybe you could give me a hand at fitting me properly to my bike?
    Thanks,
    Stein.

  • Hi, I posted this in the general forum too....
    Hi,

If I was you I would ensure that the bike is set up properly and then avoid concentric contractions (skids or attempting skids). To apply a force through your muscles and fail is a very bad thing for your joints and tendons. This sounds like you've strained your quadricep tendon. Which would be in line with trying to slow the bike. Just buy a break and don't bother using your legs to slow down.

    Peace

  • Yeah I read that, very helpful but the help I need is in the setting up of proper riding position.

  • Find a tutorial on-line like:
    peterwhitecycles.com/fitting.htm
    or
    sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/sport/a/bikefit.htm
and have a mate spot you on it.

    Peace

  • Tiny you have a trainer right?
Any chance I could borrow it? Best thing for adjusting really.

I do, but it's currently out on loan to a boardsie I'm afraid!

Wheelworx in Clondalkin do a bike fitting service, as do Cycle Superstore in Tallaght

  • Stein, have you got sorted?

  • No can't really fit myself without trainer or rollers,

Tiny do you have any idea on the prices for either fitting?

  • 75-100 quid iirc

  • Tiny, how much did you pay for your rollers/ where did you get them?

  • I have a Tacx Flow turbo, was about 300quid or so I think (xmas gift)

  • Fook that lol, get a treadmill.
