  • Hey,
I hockey-tackled a little van (turning left without indicating) a couple of days ago. The bb is a bit loose now, and anyway it probably needs a good clean and re-greasing (if things are actually fucked I might need a bit of advice). Anyone got tools for a sugino bb? While were at it I need to borrow a couple of 32 mm wrenches for tightening the headset as well.

I'll happily to offer something in return for this, perhaps even a little river cruise.

  • where u at?

  • I'm in N4 at the moment, about to move E5, but I don't mind a little ride if necessary.

    Cheers

  • Anyone in the New Cross area have a shimano/sram external bb tool I could quickly borrow this evening?

  • I have one of these, but miles away, in Clapham.

  • Perfect but taken my bikes apart so have nothing to ride to get there. Thanks anyway

  • so this may sound funny but my headset removal tool is too wide for 1'' cups, and the 'arms' dont quite catch the headset from inside the headtube
this led me to suspicion that my headset tool is either fucked, or made for 1 1/8only
does anybody on here have a 1'' headset removal tool please?

and yes I did successfully remove the 1 1/8th headset cups with my tool

  • drop my micycle ^ theyll let you use some

  • id thought of that but its two frames

When I got my Ice Toolz Headset Remover I had to use a pair of pliers to bend out the tips to make it catch on my 1" headset. Took about 30 seconds and still works on the 1 1/8th jobs too.

didnt thought of that, thanks for the tip.
I just got a big-ass flathead screwdriver in the end

  • Anyone have a chainwhip and lockring tool I can borrow in the SE area?
I'm in SE23 and could ride my girlfriends to somewhere localish.

I currently need to re-grease my BB (hence the lockring tool) and change my fixed cog (hence the chainwhip and lockring tool). Ideally I need both or an all in one tool but If someone only has a lockring tool that'll help as that would make my bike road worthy again.
Annoyingly I own/ed these tools and lent them to my sisters boyfriend and he lives to far for me to collect.

    Thanks

you don't need to waste money on a chain tool if you have a chisel and a plunger. just use the Sheldon method.
