£100 reward for return of this bike. Thanks

  • afternoon,

a colleague has had his Brooklyn Gangsta stolen from his back garden. no photos but it was similar to the photo in this post but no drops. Black Brookes Colt saddle, pedals were some kind of flats no straps (possibly some BMW veggie burger type affair?)

  • bike found!

turns out he had left it in the basement of the office over the weekend. d'oh.

  • any one see some fucker on it, do what ever you want...

    Outstanding attitude to bike thievers

  • MY BEAUTIFUL PEUGEOT BIKE WAS STOLEN LAST NIGHT. Stolen from my flat in brixton. flat broken into, lock cut off etc. if seen please be aware that I love it and it's hardly worth anything but is worth everything to me.

  • Just had my bike pinched - yesterday (15th Jan '13) - from the basement car park under my office during the day!

    Here's some details:

It is a dark green (standard colour) 2008 Specialized Langster has been stolen during the day from the basement car park under the Atkins Limited, Epsom Gateway building on Ashley Avenue. I may be able to upload a better res photo, if needed - 'though you probably all know what a Langster looks like!

Since the photo, it has been fitted with the Union Jack saddle and the front wheel changed to DTSwiss R450 on On One/Planet-X hub, same as the rear. It has/had Onza Preda 23 mm tyres fitted. Other distinguishing features are a green BrevM 46T chain wheel and 15/16 flip-flop fixed/fixed rear hub, plus Shimano 105 (silver) front brake and unbranded (black) rear. It's a dark green 2008 Langster, with green bar tape and black Tektro brake levers. It had two front, two rear lights fitted: One23 Extreme Bright 1000 front light with battery pack, RSP 4-LED front light, Smart rectangular rear light and a small single LED rear light. It has/had SKS Race Blade mudguards fitted. I suspect that these last two items, at the very least, have been removed.

Whilst not exactly unique, it has some distinguishing parts that would be hard / unlikely to change. I have the frame number at home, so can confirm any sightings.

Your help in returning this much loved bike to its home would be most appreciated.

  • That colnago is mine, police dont seem to be able to do much. Its been for sale off and on for over a month now.

  • They seem to treat bike theft as an inconvenience and don't wish to know...
makes you feel that reporting the theft of your bike was a complete waste of time...
No wonder the basic pay has been cut down to £19,000...

  • ring him up as a buyer, buy it and record the whole thing, then give it to the police,
alternatively, just call 999 outside his house,
alternatively, just beat him shitless and then call him an ambulance

  • Have been debating ringing 999 outside his, then asking for a test ride and riding off.

Dont really want to get stabbed tho.

  • Anyone got a kevlar vest i can borrow?

  • just get some metal panels, dont need kevlar, he doesnt have a diesel powered rotary knife.

  • Don't worry it's more than likely going to turn up, I mean how distinctive can you get.

  • Have been debating ringing 999 outside his, then asking for a test ride and riding off.

LOL if this guy is a bike theifing basterd what makes you think he will tell you to meet him on his own doorstep. Just act like a genuine buyer with 5 man and litterally rush him, and fuck the ambulance leave the c**# for dead!!!

  • Shit can always go wrong...

Would be cool if I could get 20 or people waiting around the corner from the meeting point for a flash mob beating.

I would just test ride around the corner.

Anyone want to volunteer? £20 per head :)

  • I can do Sunday if that's any good, work mon-fri and Saturday I'm In hospital, no offence mate but are you sure the bike in the pic is a colnago and your bike for deffo. We can't set him up unless your sure, and how comes its been soo long and no 1 has thought to pull there finger out and set this guy up. How do you know he has not sold it.

  • 100% sure its mine. Same wheels, front brake, brake cable and a rare colour. Frame was purchased here about 8 months ago.

It was for sale shortly after it was stolen then no adds for 3 weeks and now it's back. Its too obvious at that price its stolen so maybe he's having a hard time selling.

  • That colnago is mine, police dont seem to be able to do much. Its been for sale off and on for over a month now.

Have you tried the Cycle Task Force? I think they'd definitely be interested in that one, especially with repeat listings.

  • Ok you want my best advice,

STEP 1: gather proof that this is yours,

STEP 2: arrange to meet at Notting hill tube station. (His location I believe)

STEP 3: wait for the mug to arrive, at the same Minuit he pulls up YOU DIAL 999 not 101 must be 999 ask for police and tell them to get to Notting hill tube station and fast don't tell them nothing just "quick it's an emergency please" and sound frantic, hang up and silence your phone. As they will try and call you back.

STEP 4: casually walk over to your man, shake his hand and act genuine, WASTE TIME, TALK BIKE SHIT to him. Flip the bike check wheels are true ( gets them every single time)

STEP 5: make him feel safe that its not a set up, you will both see the police pull up but wait for them as they are walking into the station and grab the bike so he can't make off on it call the police over and make sure you explain to them the full situation and tell them you phoned them, infront of the man you don't give a shit at this stage it's you the Theif your bike and the police

    STEP 6: YOUR SAFE !!!

Show police proof infront of the Theif and police that its yours tell them it's worth 5 times what he's selling for etc and the police might take it for a month or so but at least you will get it back, they may even let you ride it home without paying, Theif gets arrested and spends the rest of the day in the cell, and hopefully he learns his lesson,

If that don't work you not done it right. But trust me you will get that back.
